Duke Nukem Forever in about a couple of years

Its now official that they will have had worked on Duke Nukem Forever for about 10 years before launching it! The project began in 1997, has been resumed several times and it will take another couple of years until it's done - according to some comments that came from Scott Miller (CEO and 3D realms founding member) through a recently audio podcast.

That podcast was the sixth weekly episode of Next-Gen.biz, and on that occasion Scott Millers has also mentioned a few ideas about Prey 2 (almost getting there!), about the platform of Steam digital distribution of the Valves, and the episodic games in general (the guy doesn't quite fancy them , also saying that Valve asks for a exaggerated amount of money to publish the games through Steam) .Coming back to the Duke, Scott wanted to mention that the big marketing campaign of the game will start with only 10 to 12 months before its finalization. And since we didn't see yet any "big campaign ", one can be sure that Duke Nukem Forever should not appear next year either. 2008,2009? Who knows?

Q: The bottom line: why has the game taken so long?"

"A: We suck, pretty much.

Jesting apart, other things have also been said about DNF in the Next-Gen's podcast, whose summary can be read on Duke4.net.

And since Prey2 has also been mentioned a lot, it would be a good idea to notice that 3D Realms hopes that the developing of the second part takes 24 to 30 months, basically placing its launch to the end of 2008 or the beginning of 2009.

Good lucking keeping fan interest high until then!
