Medieval England. City of Cavorn becomes a victim of the Dark Plague, a disease that turned England upside down and killed millions of people. Times were bad, there was sadness all around and people were poor. Robbers, rapists and murderers did not represent something out of the common. Nobody cared about them. For all these criminals there was an order, and Nicholas Farepoint our main character was one of its members. Also named Haresh al-Dorem, he had the ability to speak to the dead. He was the one who traveled all over England to make justice. Some sort of Robin Hood, only more frightful.

Those who have already seen images of the game had probably considered it an RPG, some Diablo clone. At first, it seems indeed like the developers tried to make an RPG but changed their mind on the way and decided to make an adventure; because that's what Daemonica is. An adventure game.

Daemonica can be considered a hybrid taking into account that it has both RPG elements (the interface, an inventory, potions, dungeons, battles ) and adventure elements (a well structured journal, looking for proofs and stuff)

The game is very enjoyable, it does not require any special knowledge or tricks .It is a classic adventure , point-and-click I would say. I will try to detail its elements both good and bad.

As I was saying, you, Nicholas are invited by the mayor of Cavorn to solve the mystery of three crimes. But after all of the evidence is being either destroyed or out of reach and the main witness, the potential culprit is hung, the mayor suggests that he would rather hide it all out in hope of being discharged of having executed the assumed murderer too quickly.

You are starting to interrogate the witnesses, people of the city, to find evidence that could lead you to finding the truth. But people are very reticent and it all comes to the "claw me and I'll claw thee" principle; clews at this rate. Slowly, you accumulate proof, and the story starts to get complicated. You then realize that you did not see that coming at the beginning. You will be using the alchemy-set quite often along the way, to make potions that will help you advance. You will need plants for the potions, which you will gather from the city. Helped by several potions you will be able to find the Temple of Sacrifice that will help you find the "hidden" proof. After discovering the map, the main 'attraction' points will appear on it, and so you will be able to use the fast travel function, suchlike the one in Oblivion, meaning that you will be teleported to the respective locations. That is a very useful thing because you will need to move a lot between these locations.
