The levels with the preacher are excellent most of them and full of shots. He has got two guns, one for each hand. They can be used one of a time or simultaneously. One of them can be used for target and is interesting in bullet time mode. If you haven't got any gun available, press fire and the game goes in slow motion and two crosshairs appears on the screen from different directions and heading to the centre. Then move the mouse to target the crosshair to different enemies and the gore may begin. When time bullet mode ends you can admire six enemies falling down simultaneously. The feeling of absolute power combined with the bestiality of the preacher generates an astonishing game play The vagabond Billy Candle is completely different. He rarely find a weapon and 90% of his levels has to sneak and climb. Some of his levels are funny, but first half of them are pretty boring. You're looking forward to playing with the preacher, cause they alternate. Some of the missions are practically played twice from different perspectives and locations which is absolutely cool. About Billy again I can say that the voice acting is very faint and he generally is a stodgy character, things that cannot be said about the preacher.
With well built missions, the game has also got a nice story. The end of the game is also nice and the wild west theme makes you curious. Unfortunately, the game also has weak points. Here I mention the system problems, some of the levels are boring, poor arsenal, problematical sound, no translation...Using OpenAL mode you can have problems with the sound. If you use Directx mode you don't have this problem anymore, but X-FI system is not for not to be used at its 100%. Another weak point of this game is that you can use the bow, one of the nicest weapons only at the end of the game. It can be used in slow motion and is extremely funny, but you can kill bandits within only one level Regarding the online part the game can be played in four different ways: a classic part, on wire, robbery kind and gold rush. Attractive, if your servers are for thisThe main reason you should play Call of Juarez is the atmosphere. It is very good at this chapter especially in the end. The preacher is also one of the coolest characters I've ever played, the graphic, the slow motion and the entire story. A better optimizing, shorter loading time, more freedom for the "good" character and maybe an intensification of the game play within Billy's levels might increase the quality of the game. Anyway, the game is still good and you can play it if your computer can take this.
