City looking for governor. Offers fun. That summarizes the spirit of the series that costs me a lot of nights during high school. ( hope my mother doesn't read this‚cause she knows I've studied). The three Caesars brought a fascinating roman world. You, Ludicus, are the happy governor of a roman province and it's capital.. Mission after mission, city by city along Sicily, Spain, Britannia, Romania (better called Dacia), the game awards you till you reach the rank of emperor. Obviously is a hard way to imperial crown as u have to be a constructor and a warrior in a very funny story. Let's take'em one by one.
Ludicus arhitectum est
The fourth in it's series brings some chaneges.first of all is the quality of graphics, which artistically is upgraded to 3D era without design changes. From any angle the city belongs to Caesar's brand. The first innovation is the configuration of the streets. Limited till now to horizontal and vertical the roads are now more complex limited only by player's imagination. The beginning will be the same, a soll crowd of dumps but if they are situated near utilities will grow fast to a bunch of palaces. ( Obviously less imposive then yours but if they bothers you can destroy theirs).
As they grow thy will have more needs and you a lot of troubles. An praetor, an architect, a dwell and some food seemed to be enough for your immigrants as soon as you evolve their needs become your trouble. Thy wand temple, education, fun ( fast-food ?!! broadband ?!! cable ?!!) and a lot of exotic products. Then you remember that you have a real industry to satisfy their needs. Timber becomes furniture, clay becomes dishes, iron - weapons and grapes - hangover ( maybe they will include an aspirin factory this time). You will have 30 different resources and 100 buildings. Don't be afraid because they aren't many and will bi really crowded. There are 75 different types of people. They love to walk around loosing time and a simple click tells you what they feel about you. I hope that their lines are same funny as in Caesar III. My obsession was to talk with all the actors with their names like Maelus Gibsonius, Clintus Orientlignus or Sylvestrus Stallonius.
Talent or talants ?
Till now we saw some changes. But how about the spirit of the game? Money talks. Spent easy but you have to invest to recover your money. We know already that we have an industry so we have to sell our products. Now even abroad. But you have to deal with diplomacy issues. ( What that means ? We don't know yet but we have the urge to know)
The army will have as usual defensive tasks because the specific of the game, a city - builder. We don't know yet how the combat will evolve only mars will know, praise him ! Guess that new kind of troops will be developed or new combat systems or both. The key remains walls and defense towers.
Dubito ergo sum
Reading the information about Caesar IV I HOPE THE PRODUCERS CAME BACK TO Caesar II style when the administration was both for the city and the province. Unfortunately the producers says nothing about this. Caesar III, Pharaoh, Zeus, no one included this idea in those games.
I'm concerned about this game because I saw what shit made this producers this year with â€oImmortal Cities: Children of the Nileâ€? graphics sucks and bores as much as Oprah.
Hail Hit...this, Caesar
Be aware Ludicus and prepare yourself for a long and hard work. Together Career ( be the master) , Scenario or Sandbox (testing area) offers at least 100 hours of playing. Tlited Mill measured this. But we are prepared fore more.
Protect your subjects from fire, disease or hunger, defender ask them to pay taxes and trade, grow the city and you will be granted with „AVE LUDICUS. And beware of the Ides of March ...
